Die hard Sarah Palin supporters offer endless excuses why their hockey mom savior is a quality VP pick - and would make a great president if required to take over. One recent complainer cites "Sarah's approval rating in Alaska."
Let's examine the other side of that coin.
According to the Mudflats blog, the press has obviously overlooked the largest political rally ever held in Alaska. Did you expect this rally to be a love fest for Palin? I think not. The 3-beat rally chant: O - ba - ma.

This is something the public hasn't been privy to. Thanks for giving us more information to chew on.
As always, we need to search out the truth for ourselves.

I guess Alaska has spoken then!
The controversy surrounding Sarah Palin seems to get more and more vocal every day. I'm a melange of saddened and amused by the negative press that Palin brings. Bottom line though; I really think the issues people are raising need to be addressed.
Love!

@Believer 1964: Welcome! Lazy voters who refuse to search the truth led to the mess we're in. I was among that group for much of my voting life. I based my decisions on party affiliation and the media. But it's time-out for the nonsense. I don't blame folks who are still in the "lazy voter" group, but I will work to make it easier for them to reference sources reporting the truth not seen in the mainstream media. Thanks for coming by via Blu!
@Blu: I was actually surprised by how quickly negative press emerged about Palin. Although she doesn't represent a ticket I can endorse, I was hoping McCain would make a reasonable choice... especially in the event that nut actually wins!

notice how nobody mentions Joe Biden or John McCain much anymore?
Posted by: GC | September 16, 2008 at 03:31 PM
Well, Joe certainly gets ignored a lot right now. McCain, however, still manages to stick his foot in his mouth often enough to get SOME coverage. But there is no doubt the media attention is on the "elite, well-spoken black guy" and the "cute, fiesty hockey mom." The media hasn't had appropriately juicy-yet-shallow subject matter like that in a while. Focusing on the issues, sadly, doesn't grab people's interest.

those are very dramatic pictures. I should catch up on the politics updates in your country.

@GC: I do notice. I'm one of the guilty, but it has to stop. Palin the Smokescreen is working. Her presence is a distraction from the issues of primary concern. While she represents McCain's questionable judgment, there's an economy that needs fixing, and the candidates must be weighed for ability to turn this mess around!

@Deacon Blue: You are so right about the "juicy-yet-shallow" draw that Obama and Palin represent for the media. The American public has the attention span of a toddler. You're right about the how the "issues" don't have the power to grab that attention.
@RawDawg: LOL. I enjoy my little trips to MudFlats.
@Saint2: I also found those pictures dramatic... primarily because of the surprising demographic waving them.
I appreciate your stop here at my humble little blog home. Also, I did a quick drive-by of your blog. I'll certainly return for more reading.
