Dear V,
Today is your birthday and I couldn't leave this message to Hall.mark. There's no possible way that Hall.mark could search my heart and find the right words to express my birthday wishes for you.
Today is the day that God wrapped your beautiful spirit in flesh and presented you to the earth. In His infinite wisdom, He'd actually presented one of the most precious gifts that I would ever receive. (Did I mention how much I like the wrapping that was selected?)
Is it a coincidence that your birthday is on the first full day of Spring? This season represents everything fresh...new...colorful...and alive. Is it any wonder that you represent those things in my life?
Your passionate approach to work, life, love, and even fussing is a marvel to me. You have lost so much over your lifetime. Some would qualify that as a negative. But your losses gave you strength. You're victorious. Successful people often tout the pertinence of losing. So much more is learned from a loss than a success. And because of the God you serve, great loss is rewarded with great blessings for those who walk in faith. Your future has glory waiting.
Your capacity to love runs as deep as the pains you've endured. Your hunger for integrity runs as deep as your disappointments at the hands of the dishonest. I fell in love with these qualities and your daily effort to live pure truth.
You give freely of your time, gifts, talents, and resources. You don't walk, talk, or live like a selfish man. Your heart searches for ways to give daily, whether it's to me, my boys, a neighbor in need, or a perfect stranger receiving a home from Habitat for Humanity. It's a pleasure for me to look at myself and wonder, "What can I do to bless this man's life?"
I appreciate the way you assign value in the proper places. You want a home before a house. You want a marriage before a big wedding. And you want a priceless love before a cheap lay.
I'd crash the blog server if I had to tell the whole story. So I'll suffice it to say that I love you and I want your day to be as special as you are.
Love,
Hawa aka Batgirl aka Boo Boo
