Jesus has a way of giving us gifts, even on his birthday. This season was no different for me, and December held wonderful things for me - from a changed heart to wonderful new people in my life.
At the beginning of this year, I was operating on a single promise: 2006 would hold major changes for my life. Change is not always the result of blood, sweat and tears. Sometimes, change is dictated by faith and by getting out of God's way when He's trying to send a blessing. He shows up where we're weak and places His hand on things that we could never fix on our own.
The changes in 2006 started with a simple defeated prayer:
"God, I'm tired. I'm tired of trying to make things happen. I'm ready to move out of your way. You promised to provide for me so I can live my purpose. But I'm working hard to provide for myself. I'm ready to live my purpose, and I'm holding you accountable for your promise - that you will provide for me in supernatural ways. I'm done. Now you do it."
I'm in love with Him for taking that prayer, like a lump of clay, and shaping it into something beautiful. God works from the inside out. I've experienced a change of heart that has resulted in people and things being added to my life. When I rise in the morning, my eyes don't even perceive the same. Circumstances are now like a sheer curtain.... I'm able to see through them to the truth of my coming victories. I'm free like I have never been. My 5 senses can't comprehend the change, but I often sense a warm hug that I wear all day long.
And for you, my dear readers, I say this prayer:
"God, you commanded us to pray for one another because prayer grants you passage to get involved with our earthly affairs. For my readers, I ask you to plant a new hope or to spark an old one in their hearts. And as hope grows, give them the strength operate in faith that you are willing and able to provide as they enter new seasons of life. I thank you for how you've done this in my life, so I beseech you to do it for others in 2007."
Happy New Year!
